Summary of “An Inconvenient Truth”

“An Inconvenient Truth” is one of the most important documentaries films. It is presented by Albert Arnold AlGore (serving from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton). Gore was awarded the 2007 Oscar prize for his effort in this film.

“An Inconvenient Truth” is the film that explains what global warming means by using some scientific facts (Pictures, numbers, statistics). Also, it shows some dangerous problems that may face us and may cause lots of disasters our planet and that is why called it “An Inconvenient Truth”.

This film illustrates lots of factors that result from our activities like huge numbers of cars and huge amount of gases that are produced from those cars. Also, the smog and gases which result from big factories and many other factors. Those factors which are mentioned in that film lead to one very dangerous disaster which is called “Global Warming”. In addition of giving us the factors, it gives us some solutions to avoid and reduce the disasters that may happen as a result of global warming.

Al Gore presented some important scientific truths. Increasing the amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the air cause to earth’s temperature to rise. That thing will lead to melting the Ice Glaciers in the Arctic. As the result of that, the amount of sea water will increase and lots of Coastal Cities will sink. Millions of people will find themselves outside their cities without work, homes and food especially in the South East Asia Countries. Also, there are lots of natural disasters that may happen as a result of global warming such us Flooding and Hurricanes. That thing will produce a huge number of deaths and damaged cities.

The countries over world should cooperate to face this serious problem. Signing the agreements and protocols such us Kyoto Protocol is one of solution to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air as much as we can. Keeping our environment clean from any pollution like what the UAE did, will reduce the negative effects. Establishing new cities which are called “Cool Cities” are the kind of smart solutions. “Masdar City” which is establishing in the UAE these days and cost billions is a good example of clean and safe cities. The UAE have started doing some steps to care for the environment.
