  • My Profile
I’m Mohammed AlHammadi. I was born on 12 of September 1981 in small village called Sila in. It lies in a border of Saudi Arabia. It is about 350 Km from Abu Dhabi and you have to drive three hours to get there.

  • Facts about my small town.
It is quiet big. Sila population is about 10000. In the past, the people there were interested in fishing but these days they do different jobs. In the past, there were no entertainment places to spend our time such as Cinemas, parks and malls. The people in Sila spend their time playing football, walking, fishing and sometimes camping.
Nowadays, there are a small Park and a beautiful beach and there are some projects and buildings that are going to be finished soon. These projects have done by the government and make life better. Because it is small village, everybody knows each other. There are some facts that I have to mention. If people want to change the routine, they have to visit Abu Dhabi and as I mentioned before you have to drive three hours to get there. However you have to drive just two hours to reach Doha City which is the capital of Qatar.

  • Facts about me.
I finished me secondary school in 1998 with not bad results. I heard about the Food Inspection Program which means that I have to study three years at the High College of Technology. I started that program and finished my studying after three years. Then I got my job as a Food Inspector in Abu Dhabi Municipality. I spent about four years in Abu Dhabi. I decided to return to my small town to work there in Municipality’s office at the end of 2001. I started working there and made new friends. I got married at the end of 2004. I have got a child. In September of 2007 I came to Abu Dhabi to complete my study. That will take about three years to finish with a Bachelor degree. I hope, to finish my study without any problems.

  • My free time.
Playing football is really everything that I want to do in my free time. But I injured my knee in May of 2006; I went to the hospital and the doctor advised me to do an operation on my knee because there was a half cut in my knee’s ligament. I had the operation in June and I had to wait seven months to play again. These days I’m trying to do some exercises to help me to return playing football again.
Walking, sitting in a quite place (cafĂ©) and going to cinemas with my friends are something that I like to do in my free time. But these days I don’t have much free time to do what I like to do. My job, my studying and my family, I have to distribute my time in these three things and I don’t think there is any time for me.

  • My hope.
I hope that I finish my studying with very good results and became better in my job. Also, I hope, my life general becomes better and better.

Summary of “An Inconvenient Truth”

“An Inconvenient Truth” is one of the most important documentaries films. It is presented by Albert Arnold AlGore (serving from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton). Gore was awarded the 2007 Oscar prize for his effort in this film.

“An Inconvenient Truth” is the film that explains what global warming means by using some scientific facts (Pictures, numbers, statistics). Also, it shows some dangerous problems that may face us and may cause lots of disasters our planet and that is why called it “An Inconvenient Truth”.

This film illustrates lots of factors that result from our activities like huge numbers of cars and huge amount of gases that are produced from those cars. Also, the smog and gases which result from big factories and many other factors. Those factors which are mentioned in that film lead to one very dangerous disaster which is called “Global Warming”. In addition of giving us the factors, it gives us some solutions to avoid and reduce the disasters that may happen as a result of global warming.

Al Gore presented some important scientific truths. Increasing the amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the air cause to earth’s temperature to rise. That thing will lead to melting the Ice Glaciers in the Arctic. As the result of that, the amount of sea water will increase and lots of Coastal Cities will sink. Millions of people will find themselves outside their cities without work, homes and food especially in the South East Asia Countries. Also, there are lots of natural disasters that may happen as a result of global warming such us Flooding and Hurricanes. That thing will produce a huge number of deaths and damaged cities.

The countries over world should cooperate to face this serious problem. Signing the agreements and protocols such us Kyoto Protocol is one of solution to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air as much as we can. Keeping our environment clean from any pollution like what the UAE did, will reduce the negative effects. Establishing new cities which are called “Cool Cities” are the kind of smart solutions. “Masdar City” which is establishing in the UAE these days and cost billions is a good example of clean and safe cities. The UAE have started doing some steps to care for the environment.

Introduction to Cool Cities

Cool Cities is a project that hopefully happen all over the world. Cool Cities are cities which reduce pollution and energy waste. These step will help us to solve global worming problem and will lead us to live in a clean environment and then save our planet. In this project I’m going to illustrate advantages of Cool Cities and doing some researches about some topics like Carbon Footprint and Abu Dhabi Cool City (Masdar).
